Baby Scissored-Tailed Flycatcher, Out of the Nest as Sibling Looks On
I saw it. This little Scissored-Tailed Flycatcher was standing on the branch, next to the nest. Brother or sister looking on.
And then it flew.
And that was that!
They’re still headquartering out of the pecan tree, though not the nest there. I know this because Momma and Pappa are hovering around, landing in the top of the tree, the electric wire nearby. There’s some chattering, but mostly loud chirps and softer chirps.
Such care.
Such freedom.
