Reflected Pink in the Evening Sun
The moon is full
again.
The nights have been cool,
unusual in Oklahoma
in July.
Brilliant white moon,
clear sky,
bright stars
and that cool, clean air…
oh my.
Watching the moon
each night
as it moves across the sky,
changing shapes,
waxing,
waning,
then filling out completely
every month,
brings an immense sense
of reassurance.
No matter what else is happening,
to stand outside
and take in that moon
is to put life in perspective.
Even in its constant changing,
there is something unchanging
about the moon.
We can trust
that it will be there,
and that it will be beautiful.
