Wonderful days in the city:
long conversations with dear friends,
learning from wise ones,
being in community.
Come home now
to the quiet.
Cattle calling,
rooster and guineas squawking,
a few birds singing sweetly,
wind chime tinkling.
A cool breeze stirs
and clouds cover the sky.
Time to be still
and savor
and sift
and sort
and process
the gifts of city days.
One thing I want to figure out:
how to build community
in the country
again.
