Radish and Lettuce Seedlings

Tomato Seedlings

Tomatoes Ripening in a Southern Window

Amaryllis in the Living Room

There are lots of growing things around.
The Amaryllis is in its second full-blown bloom
since Christmas.
We’re enjoying little tomatoes
from plants in the greenhouse
and a southern window.
Spinach, Kale, Chard, Lettuces,
Broccoli is growing happily
in the greenhouse;
rabbits and chickens wait expectantly each morning
for their helpings of Red Leaf Lettuce,
harvested from a raised bed outside,
covered by a cloth hoop.
Mint, Oregano, Thyme and Basil
in the south window
are plucked for soups, pastas and tea.
And now,
radish, lettuce and tomato seedlings
are popping up under the grow lights
at the Pond House.
A friend has already planted
potatoes and onions outside.
And why not? Who knows,
with weather patterns changing,
what grows best, when.
Might as well grow what you can,
when you can, where you can.
An Amaryllis blossom fully opened
as morning’s greeting,
a cherry tomato and basil leaves in a bowl of fresh greens,
lettuce and chard for the chickens…
Life is lovely.
