DSCN2645

Mid-afternoon,
clouds lowered,
turned the light
gray
and then I caught a glimpse
of drizzle/mist
moving from the east
across the bronze prairie.

DSCN2643
Warmer air
had melted much of the snow;
some white patches lay
low in the dry grasses.

DSCN2648
The air smelled
of fresh,
a tinge of rain.
Everything quieted;
birdsong softened
to a twitter.
It was as if the cloud of drizzle
gathered us all together
into a closer,
softer
embrace.
And, gentled,
we settled.
