As someone who
experiences depression,
I am grateful
for the teachings of mindfulness
and especially,
as he teaches
in the book The Mindful Way
Through Depression,
the teaching of Jon Kabat Zinn.
It has been helpful to meto understand that my thought patterns
contribute to,
feed, depression—
and even more helpful
to learn concrete things I can do
to interrupt the progression.
So I am glad to share this information,
these practices
in a retreat
on Saturday, March 15.
Of course, you can read the book,
and I hope you do
(though it’s not required reading
before the retreat.)
But learning the teachings
and the practices
is a balm as well.
